Highest first day collections in Malayalam industry
Malayalam industry has been seeing records are broken in box office collection these days. As the cost of tickets and number of high quality theatres increased there is a drastic change in the movie collections. Social media marketing really helps to create a hype about the film much before its release. Fans are also putting their efforts to make their super star's film successful. Though it is a good trend that many films gets more than its budget in initial days, some of the good films are ignored because of the lack of star presence.
In December 2018, Mohanlal starring Malayalam movie Odiyan has broken the all time first day collection of a Malayalam movie by grossing 7.24 Crore.
