1. The Great Father
The Great Father directed by debutant Haneef Adeni is one of the most anticipated movies of the year because of the big names Mammootty and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Mammootty has a killer look in the movie and is playing the lead role while the movie is produced by August Cinema, which is co-owned by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The Great Father features Arya, Sneha, Malavika Mohanan, Mia George, Manikandan Achari and I M Vijayan in significant roles.
2. 1971: Beyond Borders
The complete actor Mohanlal is coming back as Major Mahadevan again for the fourth time with the movie 1971: Beyond Borders directed by Major Ravi. The movie is based on the war that happened between India and Pakistan in 1971. Interestingly, Mohanlal will be seen in three different getups in this movie. The star cast of the movie includes Allu Sirish, Arunoday Singh, Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup and Priyanka Agarwal.
3. Sakhavu
As per reports, Sakhavu directed by award-winning filmmaker Sidhartha Siva is a well-mixed entertainer filled with action and romance. In this movie youth icon of Malayalam film industry Nivin Pauly is playing the role of a SFI leader. The first look poster of the movie is appealing enough to draw audiences to the movie hall. Sakhavu will hit the screens on this Vishu season.
4. Oru Bhayankara Kamukan
Oru Bhayankara Kamukan marks the reunion of Unni R and Dulquer Salmaan after the acclaimed movie Charlie. This simple feel good movie will be directed by the hit maker Lal Jose. Reportedly, the story of the movie revolves around a village guy who lives in a remote village near to a forest. The movie is expected to go on floor by March this year.
5. Dulquer Salmaan - Amal Neerad movie
Amal Neerad is one of the highly talented director in Malayalam film industry. Amal Neerad and Dulquer Salmaan, these two names are good enough reason for watching this movie FDFS. The movie is scripted by Shibin Francis. The final schedule shooting of this movie is currently progressing in US. Reportedly, Dulquer Salmaan will talk in Kottayam dialect in this movie.
6. Vimaanam
Vimaanam starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role has already gained much attention as it is based on the real life story of Saji M Thomas, a young man who has designed and fabricated a lightweight aircraft himself. However, Vimaanam scripted and directed by Pradeep M Nair is not a biopic. The film will go on floors by the end of this month.
7. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum
Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is the second directorial venture of Dileesh Pothan after last year super hit Maheshinte Prathikaaram. In this movie as well Fahadh Faasil is doing the lead role. 8. Take Off
Take off directed by editor turned director Mahesh Narayanan tells the story of Indian nurses, who were caught up caught up in fighting in Iraq during its civil war. The movie features Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Asif Ali, and Parvathy in lead roles. Hope, Take Off, jointly produced by Anto Joseph and Shebin Becker could be the sleeper hit of the year.
