Return of the Jedi Gets Epic New Poster

Alongside announcing the film’s triumphant return to theaters, the official Star Wars website unveiled a brand-new poster featuring artwork by Matt Ferguson, who previously designed the 40th-anniversary artwork for The Empire Strikes Back in 2020. Check out the poster here:

Matt Ferguson expressed his views on the new poster:

“I’m so happy and grateful to work on these movies again, even more so to be free to continue what I started with Empire. For that poster, a cold mechanical vibe completely takes over the composition. But Return of the Jedi is very much the triumph of Luke and the Rebels, so I wanted warmer colors to come back into the art, hence pivoting to green with red accents.”

For this new poster, Matt highlighted two of the saga’s most resonant and consequential characters: Luke and Vader.

“The artwork should tell a story, so it only made sense to give the composition to those two characters.  Will Luke be turned? Is Vader going to overcome the darkness? It’s all about the pull between good and evil.”
