Prithviraj Sukumaran’s big budget movie Vimaanam was released on December 22. The movie has got a pretty average opening at the Kerala box-office. On the first day, it has amassed a gross collection of 3.05 Lakhs with a disappointing average occupancy of 51% from Kochi multiplexes. The movie, written and directed by debutant Pradeep M Nair, is based on the real-life story of Saji Thomas, a differently abled person who built a lightweight aircraft. Apart from Prithviraj, Vimaanam also features Durga Krishna, Nedumudi Venu, Sudheer Karamana, Alencier Ley, P Balachandran, Shanthi Krishna and Anarkali Marikar in important roles.
