Indian 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film directed by S. Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. It is intended as a sequel to his 1996 film Indian. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash and Vennela Kishore. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, with cinematography by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
Indian 2 Release Date
According to a report carried out by Pinkvilla, Indian two will likely debut in theatres in late October or early November of this year (around Diwali 2023). The movie will be released in multiple languages to maximize its exposure.

“Like all Shankar films, this one, too, has great visual effects. While it isn’t as high on VFX as Enthiran or 2.0, as the script’s core is great drama in the vigilante space, some action blocks, and songs demand special effects. The team is targeting a Dussehra or Diwali 2023 release across the country,(sic)”

Indian 2 Film Story
In the final scene of the 1996 film Indian, Senapathi murders his son before fleeing to a foreign nation. Senapathi returns to India and renews his pledge to rid India of corruption by purifying society. Indian two continues from where Indian 1 left off.
The production of Indian 2 commenced in 2019 and was proceeding swiftly. On the set of Indian 2, however, a terrible incident halted production entirely. In February 2020, a crane carrying large lighting equipment collapsed and struck employees, killing three and injuring ten others. Due to the ensuing lockdown brought on by the Covid-19 outbreak, the film’s survival was in doubt.
Why Indian 2 Is Delayed?
The release of Indian 2 was announced in September 2017. In January 2019, principal photography began in Chennai, Rajahmundry, and Bhopal. Following an accident on the set in February 2020 that resulted in the death of several crew members, production was halted. Since then, production has been halted due to numerous factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, cost overruns, and legal disputes, and will not resume until August 2022.
