Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon confirmed Big Little Lies
Season 3
According to Screenrant, Nicole Kidman has stated that there will be a third season of Big Little Lies. This is a big surprise because there has been a lot of news to the contrary since the end of season 2 in 2019. In a Q&A, the Hollywood icon was honest and casually announced a new season. She stated, “I loved Big Little Lies…
We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI”. This is a big deal, but it’s important to note that no one at HBO has confirmed what she said, and season 3 of Big Little Lies is not on any official HBO schedule. Even though there hasn’t been much information, Reese Witherspoon has confirmed that she will be in Big Little Lies season 3.
Nicole Kidman hinted subtly that there would be a third season a few months ago. Now, Kidman’s co-star Reese Witherspoon has said she is working with Kidman on the new season.
“We are working on it,” Witherspoon said somewhat vaguely. My partner Nic Kidman and I are working on it.” Even though Kidman and Witherspoon noted things about the project, HBO must officially announce it.
When will Season 3 of Big Little Lies come out?
Elle says that it is still determining when Season 3 of Big Little Lies will come out, as of January 2024. But Nicole Kidman has said there will be a third season and that the leading group is on board. David E. Kelley, who made the show, had said there were no plans for a third season after Season 2.
Zoe Kravitz and other cast members aren’t sure if there will be a third season since the show’s director, Jean-Marc Vallée, died in 2021. Kidman has said that the show will go on without Vallée, though. We don’t know when work will start or the season will be sent out.
How did Season 2 of Big Little Lies end?
The second season of Big Little Lies finished with a dramatic episode that wraps up the story. The last episode, “I Want to Know,” is about the Monterey Five (Celeste, Madeline, Bonnie, Renata, and Jane). They tell the cops they killed Perry Wright, who was an abusive husband and the father of Ziggy and Drew.
At the show’s start, Mary Louise (Meryl Streep) asked Celeste (Nicole Kidman) if she knew Perry had died. Celeste went public with the fact that she had a video of Perry admitting to the accident that killed him. The women chose to meet at the police station and walk in together as if they were going to turn themselves in.
Throughout the show, the characters have to deal with the different effects of what they do. Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) texted Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) to tell her she was going to tell the truth, and the other women chose to back her up. Jane (Shailene Woodley) had sex with her coworker Corey (Santino Fontana) on their terms, and Madeline and Ed (Jeffrey Nordling) repeated their vows.
The ending was supposed to bring the story to a close, but it also left some things open to opinion, like what would happen to the Monterey Five in the future and what might happen because of what they did. Casey Bloys of HBO said that a third season was impossible, but there were rumours that some cast members wanted to keep the story going.
Plot for Season 3 of Big Little Lies
There is still no official date for the third season of “Big Little Lies.” But the show’s executive producers and stars have thrown out some options.
Some ideas for stories are to go after the ending of season 2, when the Monterey Five turned themselves into police officers, and look into what happened to the women after they did that.
There could also have been a time jump since the kids who played the characters’ kids are now adults. Jane is played by Shailene Woodley, who has said that a third season could show what life is like for the characters’ grown-up children. The writers will decide on the plan, and where they will take the story needs to be clarified.
