After a lot of drama about who will and won’t be at the 68th annual Filmfare Awards, the ceremony ended in grand style in Mumbai on Thursday night, and winners proudly posed with the Black Lady (the trophy) in their hands.
Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Rekha, Janhvi Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, Vicky Kaushal, and others walked the red carpet to start the night in style. Salman Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Maniesh Paul were all hosts for the event. The most exciting part of The Starry Night was when Vicky Kaushal, Tiger Shroff, Janhvi Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez danced. The awards ceremony was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bkc, Mumbai.
Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress (Female) award, and her movie Gangubai Kathiawadi has been named the best film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali finished the sweep and got the award for best director.
Badhaai Do won Critics’ Choice Awards for Bhumi Pednekar, Rajkummar Rao, and Sheeba Chaddha, and the social comedy-drama was also named Critics’ Choice Best Film.
Even though Kartik Aaryan’s movie Bhool Bhulaiya 2 was a big hit, it didn’t win any awards. Instead, Tabu won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress. What came as a pleasant surprise was that Sanjay Mishra won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor for his well-reviewed film Vadh, which also starred Neena Gupta.
The movie Brahmastra was a massive hit at the box office, but it didn’t win any significant awards. It did, however, win the prize for Best Music Album. Amitabh Bhattacharya won the award for Best Lyrics for the song “Kesariya” from the movie, and Arijit Singh won the award for Best Playback Singer (Male) for the same theme.
Ankush Gedam won the Best Debutant Actor (Male) Award from Amitabh Bachchan’s Jhund, and Andrea Kevichüsa won the Best Debutant Actor (Female) Award from Amitabh Bachchan’s Anek. The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Prem Chopra, who has been acting for a long time.
Salman Khan, Maniesh Paul, and Ayushmann Khurrana were the hosts of the Gala.
On April 28, 2023, at 9 p.m., the show will simultaneously be on Colours and Jio Cinema.
