“My whole family joins me in the pain of having to announce that our dear father has gone to join the stars,” Benoit Reeves said.

During his long career in Quebec, the U.S., and Europe, Reeves won many prizes, such as the Albert Einstein and Samuel de Champlain prizes. One of the best astrophysicists of his time, Reeves has been honoured with eight honorary doctorates and the Order of Canada. He is also an Officer of the Ordre National du Québec.
He wrote more than 40 books and hundreds of articles for specialized magazines. Some of the shows and popular science books that Reeves is known for are “Patience dans l’azur” and “Poussière d’étoile.” From 1960 to 1964, he worked as a manager for NASA and taught physics at the Université de Montréal. From 1965 to 1970, he was in charge of research at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).
