TvLine has confirmed that the Cw is no longer making live-action Powerpuff Girls. Arrow verse spinoff Justice U, Jake Chang, and any other series left over from when Mark Pedowitz was president are among the other films and shows that are no longer being made at the Cartoon Network. Powerpuff Girls Canceled
On thursday, the Cw’s president of entertainment, brad schwartz, said: We’ve already given those back to the studios, so they’re free to develop those and sell them anywhere.”
The powerpuff girls, starring chloe bennet, donald Faison, dove cameron, yana perrault, and others, is one of the other projects pedowitz left unfinished during his time at thecw. It was filmed at the beginning of 2021 but didn’t make the series.
In 2021, pendowitz said, ” Sometimes things miss, and this was just a miss. Tonally, it might have felt a little too campy. It didn’t feel as rooted in reality as it might have. But again, you learn things when you test things out. And in this case, we felt like, ‘let’s take a step back and go back to the drawing board.”
Brad schwartz, who is the current president of cw’s entertainment division, told about a development schedule put together by nexstar that includes the force, patti stanger: millionaire matchmaker, the great american bakeover, and a librarians sequel series.
Even though the pilot episode of the live-action powerpuff girls was filmed in 2021, the show was always late. Then the planned script for the series was put on hold until wholly rewritten. Now, the whole series has been canceled. The characters on this live-action show were supposed to get darker. There were even rumors that buttercup would be addicted to drugs in this series, which is very different from the original.
The original version of The Powerpuff Girls ran for six seasons on Cartoon Network and was turned into a movie. The last episode of the show aired in March 2005.
Even though this live-action series was canceled, fans still hope to see similar content in the future that will be more connected to the original material.
