AMC is working with its sub-distribution partners to get more than 7,500 movie houses around the world to agree to show the movie. The Eras Tour will play at all of Europe’s Odeon venues. It will already be shown in more than 4,000 places in the U.S. and Canada.
Odeon said this morning that viewers in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Portugal could buy tickets at its theatres. “In a nod to Taylor Swift’s 1989 album and her favourite number, 13, tickets in the U.K. and Ireland will cost £19.89/€19.89 for adults and £13.13/€13.13 for children,” an Odeon release said.
The Eras Tour by Taylor Swift started tracking last week, and our sources say it will open with at least $100 million or more. Women under 25 are sure to like the show. Some conservative doubters think the movie’s opening weekend could bring in $75 million. This is because most Taylor Swift fans don’t go to the film, which makes it hard to figure out who they are.
