Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway Plot
The story is about how she fights to get her two children back from the Norwegian Child Welfare Services. Debika lives in Stavanger with her husband Aniruddha, their son Shubha, and their daughter Shuchi, who is five months old. Sia and Matilda, who work for the child protection service Barnevernet, visit them often.
During their last visit, they took Shubha and Shuchi away. The Chatterjees are shocked when they hear they can’t care for their children because they aren’t fit. Debika decides to fight the government and win back custody of her children. During the case, Debika learns some shocking facts about how child custody works in Norway, which leads her to take an important step. The rest of the movie is about what comes next.
