Aquaman 2, also called “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” should have been out by now, but it has been pushed back to Christmas 2023 because of delays. Aquaman’s DCEU debut was in 2018, and it opened to more success than anyone expected. This pushed the character’s popularity to new heights after Justice League wasn’t well received.
The action movie made $1.148 billion at the box office, so it was almost certain that there would be a DCU sequel. Now we’re in the present, and James Wan is back at the helm for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Thanks to the director, the cast, and DC Fandome 2021, we already know quite a bit about the next superhero movie. This article tells you about Jason Momoa Returns: Aquaman 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More!

Aquaman 2: Release Date: When Is Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom Out In Cinemas?
The new date for Aquaman 2’s release is December 20, 2023. Production on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom began long ago, in June 2021. They started shooting under the working title “necros.”
It was supposed to happen on December 16, 2022, but the date was moved to March 17, 2023, so VFX could be finished. Warner Bros. Discovery then moved it back to its original date so that marketing costs for 2023 could be spread out.
From June 2021 to January 2022, the sequel was filmed. In July 2022, there were some reshoots. That gives us hope that the date of December 2023 will be met.

Aquaman 2 Cast: Who Will Be Back In Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom?
Jason Momoa will return as Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, and Amber Heard will play Mera.
Patrick Wilson has confirmed he’s back as Orm and said he’s been “slightly briefed” on what’s next for the deposed king of Atlantis. He teased, “I can tell you that even [Wan’s] concepts for Aquaman 2 are pushing it further.”
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has also confirmed that he will be back, even though Black Manta was set up to be the main bad guy in the next movie. “Black Manta will be back, and hopefully, he’ll cause a lot more trouble than he did in the first one,” he teased.
Willem Dafoe as Nuidius Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus is also back. Indya Moore as DC villain Karshon and Pilou Asbaek in a mystery role are among the new cast members.
The fact that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the sequel might be the most exciting thing for DC fans to hear. It has also been said that Michael Keaton might come back as Batman after he comes back in The Flash.
Who knows, Julie Andrews might also come back as Karathen.
Aquaman 2: Plot
In Aquaman 2, Arthur Curry will probably look for Necrus, the hidden eighth Atlantean kingdom.
In the first movie, Arthur Curry reluctantly decides to become king of Atlantis to stop a war between the underwater kingdom and the rest of the world. His choice sends him on a worldwide adventure to find King Atlan’s trident.
But his new title will only lead to more mysteries in the sequel, including the secrets of the “lost Kingdom.” In the comics, there is an eighth Atlantean kingdom called Necrus, which comes and goes from our plane of existence depending on where an alien satellite that orbits the planet is.
It needs to be clarified why Arthur is looking for (yet another) hidden location connected to Atlantis, but Wan says it will expand the DCU’s reach even more. The director told the audience at DC Fandome that the hero would “visit so many different worlds” in the sequel. Of course, Aquaman won’t just be sightseeing for two hours, no sir. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Patrick Wilson will be back as the DC villains Black Manta and Orm/Ocean Master, respectively.
