The notion that a big budget and star power are prerequisites for a historical period film has been a long-standing belief within the film industry. However, Yaathisai, directed by Dharani Rasendran, has proved it wrong. The historical fiction not only comes up with exciting visuals and well-crafted screenplay but also some powerful lines then and there that touch upon war, the male ego, and the lust for power.
