According to Tvline, The Nevers season 2 is taken off by HBO Max. This means that the HBO sci-fi drama will end after just one season. Whedon created and executive produced the series with Bernadette Caulfield, Ilene S. Landress, Doug Petrie, Jane Espenson, and Philippa Goslett, who took over as showrunner after Whedon’s departure. He said he was “genuinely exhausted” when he left the project in November 2020.

In The Nevers, the story takes place in London during the last years of Queen Victoria’s rule. The “Touched” are people, primarily women, who suddenly have strange powers, some of which are charming and some of which are scary.
Amalia True (Laura Donnelly from Outlander) and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly from Red Rock) were both Touched. The show’s official synopsis says, “They are the champions of this new underclass. They make a home for the Touched while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces, to make room for those for whom history as we know it has no place.”
