Tom Selleck stand alone in the first look of the ‘Blue Bloods’ final season: The 14th season of Blue Bloods will be the last one. Half of the shows will air this spring when the new season starts on February 16, and the other half will air in the fall, so there’s still a long way to go.
A recent article gave fans of the show hope that they are not the only ones sad about its ending. Tom Selleck, who plays NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan, still waits for the show to end. The first look poster of the series shows Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan by himself.

Why does Tom Selleck stand alone in the first look at the last “Blue Bloods” season?
TV Insider says that the CBS procedural’s final season poster is all about the show’s star, who looks worried and thoughtful in the picture and shows a faded New York City skyline.
This could be a sign of the police commissioner’s inner struggle at the start of the last season of Blue Bloods, which will force him to make a hard choice.
Frank has to decide what he thinks about Mayor Chase’s (Dylan Walsh) new policy on refugees’ right to stay in New York. Will Frank back the mayor in public, or will he do what he wants?
Maybe the worry on his face comes from the fact that his son, Sgt. Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) is working as a spy for a dangerous human trafficking ring.
“He knows he’s getting in the way where he shouldn’t be.” Selleck told TV Insider about this story before: “Frank always struggles between his duties as a police officer and his duties as a parent.”
Selleck may not be acting very hard in this picture, but he told TV Insider that he’s not ready for Blue Bloods to stop.
“Counting only the days until I can do something else is not in my mind. I love the work,” he said. As I get older, the hours get longer sometimes, but so what? “I’ll work for as long as they need me.”
Selleck also said Frank isn’t ready to give up his badge yet. “The commissioner picks fights because he wants someone to fire him and take this responsibility off his shoulders,” Selleck said. “But he always feels responsible, and he has to deal with it.”
Fans have loved this show for a long time because of how dedicated Frank is to his family and job. One thing is sure: this show will give fans the finish they want.
