Scream 7 Release Date: Some significant changes are coming to the latest Scream movie. Because Scream VI did so well at the box office (it had the highest opening weekend of any movie in the series when it came out in March), a seventh movie was announced in August.
Vogue asked about the possibility of a sequel, and director Paul Neinstein said, “We will keep making these as long as they let us.” Co-writer James Vanderbilt agreed, saying, “Absolutely!” “It would be great to do this again.”
The seventh movie is still being made, but the series has hit a snag because several cast members will not return for the sequel. Here is everything you need to know about the newest Scream movie.

This was announced in August 2023. Chris Landon (Happy Death Day) was initially supposed to direct the movie, but he quit in December 2023 because the group was changing.

On October 4, 2023, in Santa Monica, California, Christopher Landon goes to the Aero Theatre to see “Totally Killer” at the 2023 Beyond Fest.
After Wes Craven died in 2015, Scream Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed 6 and 2022’s Scream. But when the seventh Scream movie was announced in August, it came with a new director.

“Now is a good time to say I officially quit Scream seven weeks ago. “This will make some people sad and make others happy,” Landon wrote in his post. “It started as a dream job but turned into a nightmare.” And it did break my heart for everyone—all of you. We need to move on now.
“I have nothing more to add to the conversation other than I hope [original Scream director Wes Craven’s] legacy thrives and lifts above the din of a divided world,” the filmmaker said. “What he and [producer/screenwriter Kevin Williamson] created is amazing, and I was honoured to have even the briefest moment basking in their glow.”
