When is ‘The Idea of You’ going to come out?
The Idea of You will be available on Prime Video at some point in 2024, but we’re not sure which exact date in 2024 it will be. That’s all we know about the release date so far.
For now, we’re just going to watch that short clip over and over.

What is ‘The Idea of You’ story about?
A 40-year-old single mother named Sophie is asked by her ex-husband to take her 16-year-old daughter to Coachella. The movie The Idea of You is about her, as per reports of Cosmopolitan.
When Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the popular boy band August Moon, becomes interested in Sophie at the event, things get interesting. The two start dating.
Sophie’s real name is Solène in the original book. The official summary of the book says, “What starts as a series of secret trysts quickly turns into a passionate and real relationship.”
The journey takes place across countries as Solène and Hayes find their way through each other’s lives, from stadium tours and international art fairs to quiet places to hide in Paris and Miami.
“For Solène, it’s a way to get back to being herself and to find happiness and love again.” When Solène and Hayes’ relationship goes online and makes her and her daughter the focus of devoted fans and a never-ending media, Solène has to face how her love life has affected the people she cares about the most.
Does ‘The Idea of You’ come from Harry Styles fan fiction?
There is a lot of talk that the book is based on Harry Styles fan fiction because the main character, Hayes, looks a lot like the former One Direction singer, right down to the tattoos he has.
People says that the author says the book isn’t based on fan fiction, but she did say that Styles inspired the character of Hayes. When she talked to Vogue in December 2020, she said that Hayes was her “dream guy” because he was a mix of “Prince Harry meets Harry Styles” and Eddie Redmayne.
She says, “The Idea of You was never supposed to be a book about Harry Styles. It was supposed to be a story about a woman approaching 40 reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself, just at the point that society usually stops seeing women as desirable, viable, and whole.”

Who includes in the cast of ‘The Idea of You’?
Hollywood stars Along with Nicholas Galitzine, who is currently in the new Sky drama Mary & George, Hollywood’s newest star Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada, The Princess Diaries) will lead the cast of the movie.
Before Mary & George, the actor was in the romantic comedy Red, White, and Royal Blue, where he played Prince Henry, a member of the British royal family who started dating the son of the first female president of the United States.
He most recently played jock Jeff in Ayo Edebiri’s comedy Bottoms. Other movies he’s been in are the Netflix supernatural horror Chambers (2019), Craft II (2020), Cinderella (2021) with Camila Cabello, and Purple Hearts (2022).
Along with Ella Rubin (Masters of the Air), who will play Solène’s teenage daughter, we don’t know who else will be in the movie yet. Fans will have to stay tuned for more information.

Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) is directing the movie, which was written by Jennifer Westfeldt (Friends with Kids).
When was the movie ‘The Idea of You’ made?
The shooting for the movie started in October 2022. At that time, Hathaway and Galitzine were seen shooting a scene where Galitzine put his arm around Hathaway. Later that month, they were caught on camera kissing in the rain for a hot scene.
In December 2022, Galitzine added a few behind-the-scenes photos to his Instagram account to prove that filming was over.
